Welcome to the website of Noosamind Mental Health, the private psychiatric practice of Dr. Dhushan Illesinghe. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website (noosamind.com.au / noosamind) and outline the terms of our professional services.

1. No Emergency Services

Important Notice: This website and our private psychiatric practice do not provide emergency crisis intervention or immediate medical advice.

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, are in acute distress, or feel at risk of harming yourself or others, please contact emergency services immediately:

  • Mental Health Access Line: 1300 MH CALL (1300 642 255 - QLD only)
  • Go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital.

3. Referrals and Appointments

  • To consult with Dr. Dhushan Illesinghe and claim rebates from Medicare, you must obtain and present a valid referral from a General Practitioner (GP) or another specialist.
  • Booking an appointment or submitting a referral waitlist form does not establish a doctor-patient relationship. A doctor-patient relationship is only established once Dr. Illesinghe has officially accepted the referral and conducted an initial assessment.

4. Fee and Cancellation Policy

  • Private psychiatric services are subject to fees, which will be outlined to you prior to your initial appointment. Payment is required at the time of consultation.
  • We require a minimum of 48 hours' notice for the cancellation or rescheduling of an appointment.
  • Late cancellations (less than 48 hours' notice) or failure to attend an appointment will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Please note that Medicare rebates cannot be claimed for cancelled or missed appointments.

5. Telehealth Services

If you participate in telehealth (video or phone) consultations:

  • You must be in a private, quiet, and secure space for the duration of the session.
  • You must ensure you have a stable internet connection and compatible device.
  • During the consultation, you must not engage in activities that may distract you or compromise your safety or the effectiveness of the consultation, including but not limited to:
    • Driving or operating a motor vehicle.
    • Riding a bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, or other vehicle.
    • Operating machinery or equipment.
    • Cooking or using appliances that require supervision.
    • Performing work duties or other tasks requiring your active attention.
    • Any other activity that may distract you or place you or others at risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dr. Dhushan Illesinghe and Noosamind Mental Health will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this website or the information contained herein.

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Noosamind Mental Health or Dr. Dhushan Illesinghe and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
